Yiyee (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the App and related services, and how you can exercise your rights.

We process information on a “minimum necessary” basis. The App does not provide ads and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking or personalized advertising.

If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please stop using the App. By continuing to use the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our services, we may collect the following information on a minimum necessary basis (what we collect depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant):

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information (Sign in with Apple): When you sign in with Apple, we collect the information necessary to identify your account, such as the Apple-provided user identifier and, depending on Apple’s response and your authorization, your email address (which may be Apple’s private relay email). We may also store a nickname you submit or we generate for display purposes.
  • Support communications: If you contact us via in-app entry points or email, you may provide a description of the issue, contact details, screenshots/screen recordings, and diagnostic information so we can assist you.

1.2 Content You Create or Import

  • Notes content: Text, titles, tags, images, audio, attachments, and related metadata (such as creation/modified time and category/tag info).

1.3 Voice and Media (If You Use Related Features)

  • Voice input / speech-to-text: If you use recording or speech-to-text features, we may process your audio and transcripts to provide the feature. Whether audio is stored, how long it is stored, and whether it is uploaded depends on the feature design and service requirements. When necessary, we may send the audio file (or its accessible URL) to a speech service provider to complete transcription.
  • Images: If you upload images for notes or analysis, we process the images to provide the feature you selected (e.g., display, organization, analysis).

1.4 Device, Logs, and Diagnostics

To ensure stability and troubleshoot issues, we may collect:

  • Device information: Device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, network type, etc.
  • Logs and diagnostics: Crash logs, error logs, and other diagnostic data. This information is typically not used to identify you. We do not collect advertising-related behavior data or unrelated browsing histories via third-party event tracking tools.

1.5 Purchases and Consumables (If Applicable)

When you purchase consumable items (e.g., credits) via the App Store:

  • We process information necessary for the purchase (e.g., purchase result, transaction identifier/receipt or its summarized form) to verify the transaction, grant credits/entitlements, support “Restore Purchases”, reconcile records, and prevent abuse.
  • Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your bank card number or other payment credentials.

1.6 AI-Related Information (If You Use Related Features)

  • Text and selected content: If you use AI features (e.g., analysis, summaries, tag generation, image generation), we may send the note content you select (or the minimum necessary parts) to an AI service provider for processing, and return results for display in the App or to be written back into your notes.
  • Minimum necessary: We aim to send only what is needed to provide the feature. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

1.7 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

As long as it does not affect normal use, we try not to collect information unrelated to providing the service, such as:

  • Precise location (GPS) data;
  • Contacts, SMS, call logs, etc.;
  • Advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA) or cross-app tracking data.

2. How We Use Information

We may use the collected information for the following purposes:

3. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

3.1 Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. To provide the services, we may share information on a minimum necessary basis with the following categories of third parties:

  • Cloud/Infrastructure providers (if applicable): Storage, transmission, backup, and sync of your data (including content data and necessary logs).
  • AI/Speech service providers (if applicable): To provide AI analysis/generation or speech-to-text features you choose to use.
  • Apple: App distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchase processing, and transaction verification capabilities.

We require third parties to take reasonable safeguards and to use the information only within the authorized scope.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising delivery or cross-app tracking.

3.2 Transfer

We generally do not transfer your personal information. If a transfer occurs due to a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, we will notify you through reasonable means and require the recipient to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy or obtain your consent again where required.

3.3 Disclosure

We may disclose your information only when legally permitted or required, including:

  • To comply with laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, or legal processes;
  • To protect your rights, the rights of other users, our rights, or public interests when disclosure is necessary;
  • With your explicit consent.

4. Storage and Security

4.1 Storage Location and Retention

  • We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the services, after which it will be deleted or anonymized unless otherwise required by law.
  • When you delete content, we will remove it from online systems within a reasonable period. Due to security and disaster recovery needs, backups and logs may have a delayed deletion cycle.

4.2 Security Measures

We use reasonable security measures to protect your information, including (but not limited to) encrypted transmission (e.g., HTTPS), access control, least privilege, and data isolation. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure due to technical limitations and network risks. If a personal information security incident occurs, we will notify you and take remediation measures as required by applicable laws.

5. Your Rights

You may have the following rights regarding your personal information (which may vary by jurisdiction):

To protect security, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children (as defined by the laws of your jurisdiction). If we discover that we have collected a child’s personal information without appropriate consent, we will delete it as soon as possible or take other necessary measures.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the update involves material changes, we will notify you through reasonable means such as an in-app notice or posting on this page. The updated policy takes effect on the publication date.
