Draw, animate, preview
This will become the browser-based pet editor entrance later. Right now, you can already build a complete pet package with Codex Hatch Pet.
Hatch Pet
Codex includes a built-in skill called Hatch Pet. With one short prompt, you can generate a complete animated companion: 9 states at 1536×1872. From idea to a working desktop sprite usually takes about five minutes.
Open Codex, go to Plugins > Skills in the top navigation, find Hatch Pet, and install it.
In the Codex chat, run /Hatch Pet. Describe the pet you want: an idea, a mood, or an object from your desk. The skill generates the spritesheet and animation automatically.
Prompt hint:For example, “a rabbit holding an AK that reminds me to stretch in the afternoon” is much more distinctive than just saying “cute pet.”
Open Knock Pet, go to Settings > Pet Appearance, then choose Import. Pets generated by Codex are usually saved under ~/.codex/pets/<name>. After importing, it will live on your desktop.
On the settings page, click “Share to community” on the right side of the pet card. We host and share the files so other people can install it easily.
Drop in a folder or zip package and share it with more people.
We recommend the 9-state 1536×1872 spritesheet generated by Hatch Pet. Keep both `pet.json` and the image file when uploading.
Open Knock Pet, go to Settings > Pet Appearance, and choose Import. After importing, it will move onto your desktop.
